Joseph Fiacco graduated with honors from the Art Center College of Design 1986. Shortly after he opened a private art school where he taught drawing and painting. Joseph moved to Texas in 1994 where he continues to teach and stay busy as a freelance Fine Artist and Illustrator.
His creative focus is on a new series called "Musical Legends Portraits", a group of paintings that capture the energetic feel of live music from some of the great musicians of the world. "Music is a big love of mine and part of my creative force. I always have tunes on while in the studio working".
"Rustscapes" is a series based on reference photos he took in several Classic Auto Salvage yards in Texas. The process he uses involves photography, digital editing and traditional Acrylic and oil painting. " I love the textures and colors found in the metal, rubber and glass alongside the mountains, hills, lakes, streams, and plants. For me, painting is a way to explore the relationships between various color harmonies, form and surface textures to create a visually stimulating image. I also experiment with the range of possibilities allowed through my choice of materials. For inspiration I look at nature and how we interact with it. I am intrigued how we come from the earth and return to it. Everything is in a state of breaking down and eventually returning as something new".
"Bloom" is a group of paintings that reflect the love I have with nature and working in the yard with plants and trees. Landscaping and gardening at my home is another creative outlet I enjoy".
The cars and trucks are breaking down to their earthly grave as the vegetation rises from the soil."
Along with the Rustscape series Joseph offers oil paintings of landscapes and custom portraits.
