This artist’s current creative endeavor is centered on a collection called “Musical Legends Portraits” which features paintings that vividly convey the dynamic essence of live music performed by some of the world’s most renowned musicians.
“Music is a significant passion of mine and a driving force behind my creativity. I always have music playing in my studio while I work.”
Joe Fiacco is a visual artist and educator whose creative journey is rooted in a lifelong passion for drawing, painting, and storytelling through visual form. A graduate with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Joe earned his B.A. in Illustration/Fine Art in 1986. Over the years, his professional work has spanned portraiture, murals, magazine and book illustration, landscape painting, photo restoration, and graphic design—each piece marked by his attention to detail and deep connection to his subjects.

Joe’s current artistic focus is a dynamic collection titled Musical Legends Portraits, a series of expressive paintings that capture the raw energy, emotion, and essence of live music. Featuring some of the world’s most iconic performers, the series celebrates the visceral, visual power of music. “Music is a significant passion of mine and a driving force behind my creativity,” Joe says. “I always have music playing in my studio while I work.” These works are currently available for purchase at The Lucky Rabbit in Jonestown.

In addition to his musical portraiture, Joe has been expanding his Jackalope Series—a playful, imaginative collection that blends folklore with fine art. These whimsical, personality-rich jackalopes have become beloved by collectors and are featured in several local venues, including The Lucky Rabbit, The Rabbit Hole in Cedar Park and Leander, The Wild Hare, and the new Conejos Tex Mex Cantina. Each piece in the series reflects Joe’s sense of humor, narrative flair, and technical skill, capturing the curiosity and joy that art can inspire.

Beyond the studio, Joe has been teaching visual art since 1989, guiding students of all ages with a philosophy rooted in thoughtful critique, encouragement, and intellectual rigor. He views his role as a facilitator—offering students the tools, guidance, and freedom to explore their ideas, challenge assumptions, and discover their own creative voice.

Whether painting musical legends, mythical creatures, or mentoring aspiring artists, Joe Fiacco continues to create and share work that reflects a deep love of craft, a respect for tradition, and a joyful curiosity about the world.
